Have a Blessed Thanksgiving

Dog and Cat Thanksgiving.

May your stuffing be tasty
May your turkey plump,
May your potatoes and gravy
Have nary a lump.
May your yams be delicious
And your pies take the prize,
And may your Thanksgiving dinner
Stay off your thighs!

Thank you for blessing me with another year of allowing me to work with you. You have helped me to learn and grow tremendously during thirty years of practice. You have shared not only the secrets of your physical forms, but also the secrets of your hearts, and your wisdom. Thanks, also, to the Almighty; without Whom no healing would be possible.

The cute pair depicted above (who willing posed for table scraps) exemplify the joining together in celebration of new friends. They celebrate because together, they overcame hardship and transformed it into abundance. This alchemy of the spirit brings bold possibilities into being.

William Jennings Bryan wisely observed that "...On Thanksgiving Day we acknowledge our dependence." We depend upon one another, just as the various parts of the body need each other to function well. Just as it has been said that "the way to a man's heart is through his stomach," the stomach could never survive on its own without the beating heart. It has always been that way, and always will be.

If you need some help to restore your inner harmony before the holiday, I am here for you: just call the office. And if I don't see you beforehand, may you and your loved ones enjoy your own celebrations, and know that you are in my thoughts and prayers.

The Emotional Neurovascular Technique

A delightful young patient recently visited me after her back "went out." She was puzzled about why this happened to her. After all, she exercised regularly and was careful with her diet. I asked her if anything stressful had happened to her recently, and she looked at me as if to ask, "How did I know?" She went on to tell me a story about an unsettling event that occurred the last time she went to her office. Her face clouded over as she relived the unpleasant details aloud.

Many of us forget that the body and the emotions are connected, but in fact they are. We did a simple muscle response test while she thought about the most relaxing vacation trip she ever took. Because she is a fitness buff, her arms tested very strong. Then, I retested her while she thought about the incident at work. Her arms instantly turned into cranberry sauce (figuratively speaking!)

Once the muscles that support our neck, back and pelvis "turn off", the bony structures are prone to move into the pain zone--even if we haven't overexerted ourselves. I was able to show her a method called the Emotional Neurovascular Technique, which brings more blood to an emotional center in the brain. This counteracts the tendency we have to fall apart under stressful conditions.

If you are prone to develop physical symptoms just after a difficult emotional experience, please ask me to teach you this wonderful self-help method during your next visit. It is easy to learn and simply involves placing two fingers on some reflex points on the forehead. It could just save your holidays.

Schedule Changes

If you would like to see me on a Monday or Wednesday, listen up! This year, Thanksgiving Day falls on Thursday, November 27. My office will be closed that day and on Friday so that the staff can enjoy the long holiday weekend. To accommodate my patients and their out-of-town relatives who may be visiting or returning home from school, I will be seeing patients on Monday, November 24 through Wednesday November 26 that week. The next week, I'll also be seeing patients on a different schedule. Monday, December 1; Tuesday, December 2 and half of Wednesday, December 3; I will see patients. That Thursday and Friday, I'll be traveling for an out-of-town seminar. Please book early for those weeks to avoid disappointments.

I have a few samples of Stop That Pain Cream

An herbalist I know, Rose Franchini, gave me some samples of a natural product she created, so that she could introduce people to her pain cream and get some feedback. If the people I give them to like them, I may order them for the office. No charge for the samples (one per person!) but when they're gone, they're gone. They will probably disappear in a day or two.

Testimonial: Unexpected Help for a Shoulder

Mr. Eloy Sepulveda

Words of Thanksgiving

I originally went to see Dr. Stuart for low back pain, which got completely better, and much faster than I expected. We also did work to make my back muscles stronger, so that my relief would last. This is important to me because I need to know that I can count on my body working for me, and because his office isn't close to where I work. The last time we got together, I told him that my back had been fine for a long time, but that my right shoulder and arm bothered me. I didn't know if he could help me with that, but in that one visit, my shoulder was fine. I've recommended him to many other people.
Eloy Sepulveda

My gratitude goes to Mr. Sepulveda for willingly sharing his personal story. You can see many others at http://www.drstuart.net/testim.htm, and elsewhere on my website. Wouldn't you like to spare someone all of the misery you've gone through by simply telling the truth?

If you are camera-shy, we can just print your story. If you just want to tell me what got better for you, I'll be glad to help you rustle up some words. These true accounts may inspire someone who really needs help to seek and find it!

Thank you for being your own sweet self, and practice being well,
Stuart C. Marmorstein, D.C., D.B.C.S.
