Set the Butterfly Free!

The butterfly in your head
can help you soar to new heights
or keep you earthbound.
Many anatomists have remarked on the striking resemblance between our sphenoid bone and a butterfly. Its "wings" span from the right side of the head to the left behind your eyes. The sphenoid must be freely-moving for the rest of the skull to work right. By the way, the word "sphenoid" means "wedge-shaped" in Latin.
This butterfly-shaped structure is one of twenty-two bones that make up our cranium or skull. It is unique in that it is the only bone in your head that connects directly or indirectly with every other head bone. Because of its unique position, stress can cause the sphenoid to lock up normal skull movement. This makes your body run like a car with its brake pedal pushed half way to the floor. Celebrate freedom throughout the year by getting Bio Cranial corrections on a regular basis to keep yourself running smoothly.
This next week, we celebrate Independence Day on Friday, July 4. Because the office will be closed that day, we'll open on Wednesday, July 2 instead. If Wednesday is a particularly convenient day for you to book an appointment, here's your chance. We'll also be open on Tuesday and Thursday, as usual. Just call 713-831-6875 between 8:30 and 5:00 Monday through Thursday for an appointment this week.
If you want to have a healthy life, your head bones must not become jammed, wedged or restricted from moving. Download this report on the relationship between the skull and the rest of the body by pressing your right mouse button and choosing the "Save Target As" or "Save Link As" option.
The Student Teaches the Teacher!
If Dr. Judith Peterman could appear in this newsletter, I'd ask her to come forward for a round of applause! I helped train her class of Bio Cranial students in January of 2005. Dr. Peterman has continued to take classes to improve her understanding and skills at practically every opportunity. She even took a refresher class with the founder of the Bio Cranial System, Dr. Robert Boyd, in Ireland. During this class, she became quite puzzled...
As Dr. Boyd demonstrated the procedure and explained it to his class, Dr. Peterman saw him doing something that he wasn't explaining. He was just too close to his own work to notice a crucial step that was so automatic for him that he had never "put it into words." Her own experience as a schoolteacher (prior to her starting a chiropractic career) helped her to draw this knowledge out of him.
This past May, I attended the annual Bio Cranial Homecoming in Ft. Myers Beach, Florida. Dr. Peterman, now a new Bio Cranial Instructor, got that round of applause she so deserved. The rest of us got that missing understanding and have refined our technique accordingly. I've seen a spike in results that goes beyond anything I've seen in the ten years I've been involved with this work!
Selling Sickness
I found out about this eye-opening book at Homecoming. Ray Moynihan and Alan Cassels have documented the marketing tactics used by pharmaceutical companies to convince us to "ask our doctors" for the latest prescription drugs. Bribery of doctors? Deceit about scientific and medical facts--even when the evidence shows a drug may cause or worsen the problems it is supposed to help solve?
Is it OK for a drug company to redefine menopause as a hormone deficiency disease and get celebrities to hawk their so-called solutions for them on TV? What about the ethics of trying to convince everyone that the occasional down mood is "serious" depression, requiring medical intervention? I might admire their marketing brilliance more if it weren't for the enormous human and monetary cost of their shenanigans!
Thank you for your support during our recent family crisis
Thanks to all of you who have offered prayers and words of encouragement to me and my family during our fight to have our granddaughter returned to her loved ones. I feel that a favorable outcome is on its way very soon, and look forward to being able to give you specific good new very soon. Special thanks to those of you who purchased Jazmin packages to help us in this crusade.
Happy July 4th and Happy Summer
If you are taking a vacation this summer, have fun safely. Protect yourself from the sun's rays. Replace your electrolytes that you lose through perspiration. Be sure that you're in condition for any physical activities you may not be used to. Take breaks on long car trips, and get some movement of your legs, feet and ankles if you are taking a long flight.
I plan to be in the office all summer to see you and any friends or relatives visiting you in Houston. While I will be taking some classes this summer, they shouldn't interrupt the office schedule. They should help me to take even better care of you when we do get together. I'm also working on plans to offer more vital lifestyle and health information in upcoming newsletters, so stay tuned...
Be well!
